Obedience
Puppy STAR Classes (Group Only)
Class Starts May 11th at 2:00 pm
Specifically designed for socialization of puppies from 2 to 6 months of age. You will be taught basic commands using positive reinforcement. The AKC Puppy STAR program is to promote good ownership, socialization and training. You will receive a nice medal and certificate by AKC when you pass the following: |

PUPPY BEHAVIORS:
1. Free of aggression toward people during at least 6 weeks of class
2. Free of aggression toward other puppies in class
3. Tolerates collar or body harness of owner’s choice
4. Owner can hug or hold puppy (depending on size)
5. Puppy allows owner to take away a treat or toy
PRE-CANINE GOOD CITIZEN® TEST BEHAVIORS:
1. Allows (in any position) petting by a person other than the owner
2. Grooming-Allows owner handling and brief exam (ears, feet)
3. Walks on a Leash-Follows owner on lead in a straight line (15 steps)
4. Walks by other people-Walks on leash past other people 5-ft away
5. Sits on command-Owner may use a food lure
6. Down on command-Owner may use a food lure
7. Comes to owner from 5-ft when name is called
8. Reaction to Distractions-distractions are presented 15-ft away
9. Stay on leash with another person (owner walks 10 steps and returns) |

CGC (AKC Canine Good Citizen Group Class)
Class starts May 11th at 3:00 pm
You will be working towards your AKC Canine Good Citizens Certificate in this class. The CGC is a 10 point test that includes:
1. Accepting a Friendly Stranger
2. Sitting Politely for Petting
3. Appearance and Grooming
4. Out for a Walk
5. Walking Through a Crowd
6. Sit and Down on Command/Staying in Place
7. Coming When Called
8. Reaction to Another Dog
9. Reactions to Distractions
10. Supervised Separation |

AKC Therapy Title (Group Only)
Class starts June 8th at 4:00 pm
This eight week program covers all obedience required to become not only a therapy dog, but to gain the AKC Therapy Title.
Beginner Obedience (Group & Private Lessons) |

Class starts November 28th at 6:30 pm
Class covers all your basic obedience commands and addresses any behavioral issues. It also prepares you for CGC class readiness.

3 Week Obedience Course
Your canine companion will stay here at Colonial K-9 and learn all the basics: heel, sit, down, stay, recall, wait at the door and leave-it. We also work on behavioral issues that are your concern. You are then given handling instructions at the end of the 3 week period.
Group Classes: $120 for 6 1-hour sessions (You MUST Pre-register)
$200 for 8 1-hour sessions
Private Lessons: $50 Per hour
3 Week Obedience Course: $1,200 |
Open Ring Practice
(Every Monday 6:00-8:00pm)
3 rings will be set up (Novice/Open/Utility)
First come basis-stay for 10 minutes or 2 hours!
